Supervisory Duties
Clinical Services Supervision
Check if posted technologist / student / DEO is available on time.
Close attendance register of TNMSC techs & DEO by 8: 45 AM (by MRI i/c Radiologist).
Inspect & initial previous day nominal register after Technician’s duty abstract.
Peruse all the request forms for the day & write instructions so that patient is suitably instructed on day of Plain study.
Check if nominal register is being written as and when the scan is taken
Check films of all special studies (CT: 3D-angio, 3D-bone, cisternogram etc, MRI: cochlea, angio, spectro etc)
Random check of completed reports (name, seal, typing errors etc)
CT Reports are scanned & uploaded (not yet initiated)
Reports are dispatched by next day 4 pm. (Turn-around time)
Previous day free scan forms are checked and counter-signed.
Stock of contrast / film / cover / Biopsy guns (weekly)
Patient care & Infection Control Supervision
Enquire about any contrast reactions. To use online Contrast Reaction Intimation form if there is a reaction.
Inspect Emergency tray & drugs (weekly)
Inspect General cleanliness of console / gantry / billing / store room
Inspect bio-medical waste segregation.
Call matron-in-charge if Krystal worker has not reported.
Inspect Biopsy cart (where present); MRI oxygenator – ‘SMART’ kit (weekly)
Functioning of air-conditioner systems. (weekly)
Statutory requirements Supervision
Regular entries in error reporting book
Entries in critical diagnosis intimation register
Check insurance reports are uploaded without delay
Review TNMSC CMCHIS report consolidated by DEO every Friday
Academic Supervision
Suggest case to PG for uploading in Radatlas / printing for museum
Encourage PGs to work-up interesting cases for Clinical Society meeting or radiology meets
Take on the spot capsule class for 10 minutes to BSc / DRDT students in the respective posting.
Monitor ongoing studies / publications
